| Hella 500 Fog and Driving Lamps Wiring lights is actually a fairly easy job if you have some knowledge of electrical connections. The Hella 500 series comes with pretty accurate but vague instructions. The first thing to remember is to use the supplied relays and make sure your wiring is routed away from heat sources. I used wire loom everywhere I could, to make sure it looked "factory" and neat. When I purchased my Wrangler it did not come with any fog lights at all. I wanted to use the factory switch so I purchased a factory wiring harness from the Jeep Dealer for @ $70 that if I had it to do over again I would have just purchased the switch. Overall my experience with wiring the lights was fairly easy once I found the hot leads for the high and low beams. I am very pleased with both sets of lights and have them wired per state law where the fogs come on only with the low beams and the driving lights only when the high beams are on. On another note I am very plesed with Hella's Warranty practices. I broke one of the ABS plastic housings while adjusting the lights and they replaced it free of charge. Only problem I have noticed is the stone shields have cracked over the winter while removing and replacing. Will be contacting Hella regarding this sometime soon. |
